What is PEACE SILK and why is it different: ➡️ Making silk is a non-violent intervention in nature. While the caterpillar of the future silkworm 🐛 has spun into its cocoon to develop into the silkworm 🦋 inside (metamorphosis), the cocoon is thrown into boiling water. The animal in it undergoing metamorphosis dies, and the threads of the cocoon are turned into silk. Since I knew this, I have given up silk.

PEACE SILK is different. PEACE SILK is gently produced and allows the animals to go through their process. A small hole is drilled at the bottom of the cocoon for the butterfly to hatch through. Since the thread through this hole is no longer intact, the subsequent process of (silk) fabric production is much more complex and therefore more costly. But nature is allowed to unfold and we merely process what it gives us. That was worth it to me.
In order to enjoy your silk pillow for a long time, use a liquid mild detergent for delicate textiles and set the gentle wash cycle (do not spin strongly!).
In most cases, 20°C is already enough for cleaning, as silk is naturally dirt-repellent. Silk can be washed at up to 30°C without any problems.It is also good to put the pillow in a fine mesh laundry net before washing. Never put it in the dryer.
Ideally, silk dries lying flat on a towel.
