What is Peace Silk

What is PEACE SILK and why is it different: ➡️ Producing silk is a non-violent intervention in nature. While the caterpillar of the future silkworm 🐛 has spun its cocoon to develop into a silkworm 🦋 (metamorphosis), the cocoon is thrown into boiling water. The metamorphosing animal inside dies, and the cocoon's threads are processed into silk. Since learning this, I have avoided silk.

PEACE SILK is different. PEACE SILK is produced gently, allowing the moths to go through their process. A small hole is drilled at the bottom of the cocoon, allowing the moth to emerge. Because the thread is no longer intact after this hole, the subsequent process of (silk) fabric production is much more complex and therefore more expensive. But nature is allowed to unfold, and we simply process what it gives us. It was worth it to me.

Care tips

To ensure you can enjoy your silk pillow for a long time, use a liquid detergent for delicate fabrics and set the wash cycle on a gentle cycle (do not spin too hard!).

In most cases, 20°C is sufficient for cleaning, as silk is naturally dirt-repellent. Silk can be washed safely at temperatures up to 30°C. It's also a good idea to place the pillow in a fine-mesh laundry net before washing. Never put it in the dryer.

Ideally, silk dries flat on a towel.

How long does shipping take?

Unless a different delivery time is specified for the respective item, the delivery time is **approx. 1–3 working days within Germany**.
The delivery period begins upon conclusion of the contract.

Should an item be temporarily unavailable, we reserve the right to make **reasonable partial deliveries**. In this case, shipping costs will only be charged once.

Can I return my order?

Yes. You can return your order to us within 14 days of delivery. A refund is only possible if the items are: · in their original packaging · unused · undamaged.

Return shipping costs

For defective or incorrectly delivered items, we will cover the return shipping costs. In all other cases, the return shipping costs within Germany are a flat rate of €6.95. This amount will be deducted from the refund. Alternatively, you can return the goods to us securely packaged at your own expense. In this case, no return or processing fee will be deducted from the refund. Uncollected shipments (e.g., from a branch or parcel locker) and refused packages returned to us are also considered returns and will be charged the aforementioned return and processing fee of €6.95.
