The beginnings of alima PURE
Kate O'Brien founded alima PURE in her attic in 2004, when the natural cosmetics landscape looked very different. She wasn't a make-up artist or beauty industry insider, but a mother and kindergarten teacher with a longing for clean make-up products with reduced formulations that were also understandable for laypeople.

As a company founded and run by a woman, empowerment and connecting with others have always been at the forefront of alima PURE's work. The company believes that makeup should be able to do many things at once, just like the people who use it. Natural makeup should emphasize what you love most about yourself without hiding who you are.
Uncompromising make-up
Alima PURE produces make-up that makes no compromises. The cosmetics are luxurious, high-performance and made with clean ingredients. With a wide range of makeup colors, alima PURE aims to redefine makeup as a tool for self-expression. The products are free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, dimethicone, petroleum, talc, bismuth oxychloride and nanoparticles. They are absolutely not tested on animals.

Since the first year of its existence, alima PURE has been a member of 1% for the Planet and donates 1% of its annual gross turnover to environmental organizations. The company produces CO2-neutral by offsetting 100% of its carbon emissions through the Carbon Fund since 2008. Alima PURE also participates in the Green Source Renewable Power Program, which sources electricity from 100% renewable sources such as solar, wind, biomass, hydro and geothermal.
