Founded in 2014 by Tom and Zoe, Wunder Workshop is inspired by intuitive herbalism and Ayurveda - especially in regards to the preventative and holistic approach this ancient system of medicine takes to maintaining optimal physical and mental health.
As conscious consumers of these wonderful products, all of our choices for Wunder Workshop products support a set of ethical and sustainable values that promote a transparent relationship between producer and consumer.
In keeping with these values, Tom and Zoe source functional ingredients to create products with integrity and purpose. Their holistic approach to their products ensures that farmers, the environment, the health of the land, and their customers are considered and valued at every stage - from cultivation to the last sip.

What sustainability means for Wunder Workshop
Everything we consume has a history: Where it was grown, who farmed and processed it, and how it was packaged. We believe that these stories are the most valuable part of the process and connect us to the origin. We believe this should be transparent to all.
We ethically source our organic turmeric and most of our other ingredients directly from small community farms in Sri Lanka that use a sustainable farming method called Forest Gardening, supporting Sri Lanka's natural biodiversity, soil health, farmers and the local community. We also source ingredients that are wild harvested (Fair Game certified) and grown in their natural habitat. We avoid monoculture farms wherever possible.

The mission of Miracle Workshop
- We want to share the highest quality and sustainably sourced herbs, spices, mushrooms and medicinal plants with our global community.
- We want to raise awareness of where our food comes from and break the outdated spice trade system that ignores the health of the planet and the welfare of farmers.
- We use only sustainable and ethical farming practices that are good for the grower, the environment and the consumer. We work with family-run, single-origin farms and small community cooperatives.
- We want to preserve the ancient and traditional knowledge of medicinal plants and connect people with this knowledge.
- We educate people that food can enrich our bodies.
- Change the mindset from curing disease to preventing disease.
- Giving back to the community and the planet. We invest 1% of our annual revenue in environmental, social and women's empowerment projects.
The founders of Wunder Workshop
Zoë Lind van't Hof / FOUNDER Miracle Workshop
Zoe learned about health and nutrition from her late mother, who worked in health-related fields for over 40 years. This meant that she grew up with plants and the knowledge of them. She was surrounded by plants, so was able to develop her own intuitive herbalism and grow her own organic food. This knowledge and motivation led her to start her own business.
After traveling to Sri Lanka with her late mother to learn more about Ayurveda, Zoe learned about turmeric and its benefits. A few years after earning her Master's degree in International Relations with a thesis on climate change, she returned to Sri Lanka to establish a partnership with the suppliers of our most important ingredient, turmeric, and begin her journey to found Wunder Workshop.

Tom Smale / CO-FOUNDER Miracle Workshop
While studying pharmacology, Tom Smale came across numerous research findings on turmeric and curcumin. When he saw the role plants played in medicine, he was eager to learn more. After working in the medical world for several years, Tom was convinced that there was a better way to improve our well-being.
Tom talks about the power of plants and the way they interact with our bodies, and that is his focus. With his experience in the pharmacological world and a deeper understanding of traditional herbal remedies, he helps research functional and effective ingredients. Tom is also an avid plant-based chef, sourdough baking enthusiast, and cyclist.
