Oil from rosehip seeds: This wonderful oil is one of La Belle Lune's favourites. It comes from the Chilean Andes and has been cultivated for centuries for its wonderful properties. The seeds of the fruit are cold pressed (meaning no heat is used to preserve the high quality nutrients) to make this fabulous oil. It is light and absorbs well into the skin. It can moisturise the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, sun damage and stretch marks. It is also rich in nutrients such as the essential fatty acids omega 3, 6 and 9 (which are vital to the body and can help cell regeneration), vitamins A (retinol), B, E, beta-carotene and lycopene (a fat-soluble plant compound) which has UV-blocking properties and can fight free radicals.

Milk thistle seed oil: The milk thistle plant originally comes from Europe and the Mediterranean region, but is now widespread worldwide. Again, the seeds of the plant are cold pressed to extract the oil. It offers excellent skin protection due to the flavonoids silymarin and silybin, both powerful antioxidants that help block UV damage and environmental pollutants. Like some of our other oils, it contains linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid), which supports cell renewal. It also contains high levels of vitamin E, which neutralises the effects of free radicals. All of these nutrients are known to speed up the healing of cells damaged by acne, pimples, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, sunburn and ageing. The anti-inflammatory properties can also help to soothe the skin and reduce inflammation caused by these conditions.

Sweet Almond Oil:This cold-pressed oil from raw almond kernels is rich in vitamins E, A, B1, B2 and B6 and has a moisturising effect on dry and irritated skin. Due to its high fatty acid content, it can also help to loosen sebum and thus refine pores. It is known to have a firming effect on the epidermis and is often used in cosmetic products because of its vitamin-rich composition. All the wonderful vitamins in this oil are used to repair damaged cells and improve skin tone and texture.

Chia seed oil: Chia is a flowering herb from the mint family and originates from Mexico and Guatemala. Again, the seeds are cold pressed to produce this fascinating oil, considered the richest plant source of omega-3 fatty acids. With its high antioxidant content (even more than blueberries!) and anti-inflammatory properties, it's a real powerhouse for organic skin. It is a great source of minerals (including zinc), B vitamins (rich in antioxidants) and amino acids that help skin regain its radiant appearance while improving elasticity, tone and texture.
