Rosehip Seed Oil: This wonderful oil is one of La Belle Lune's favorites. It comes from the Chilean Andes and has been cultivated for centuries for its wonderful properties. The seeds of the fruit are cold pressed (i.e. no heat is used to preserve the high-quality nutrients) to produce this fabulous oil. It is light and absorbs well into the skin. It can moisturize the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, sun damage and stretch marks. It is also rich in nutrients such as the essential fatty acids omega 3, 6 and 9 (which are vital for the body and can help cell regeneration), vitamins A (retinol), B, E, beta-carotene and lycopene (a fat-soluble plant compound) that has UV-blocking properties and can fight free radicals.

Milk Thistle Seed Oil: The milk thistle plant is originally from Europe and the Mediterranean, but is now widespread throughout the world. Here, too, the seeds of the plant are cold pressed to extract the oil. It offers excellent skin protection through the flavonoids silymarin and silybin, both powerful antioxidants that help block UV damage and environmental pollutants. Like some of our other oils, it contains linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid), which supports cell renewal. It also contains a high proportion of vitamin E, which neutralizes the effects of free radicals. All of these nutrients are known to accelerate the healing of cells damaged by acne, pimples, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, sunburn and aging. The anti-inflammatory properties can also help soothe the skin and reduce inflammation caused by these conditions.

Sweet Almond Oil: This cold-pressed oil from raw almond kernels is rich in vitamins E, A, B1, B2 and B6 and has a moisturizing effect on dry and irritated skin. Due to its high fatty acid content, it can also help to dissolve sebum and thus refine pores. It is known to have a firming effect on the epidermis and is often used in cosmetic products because of its vitamin-rich composition. All the wonderful vitamins in this oil are used to repair damaged cells and improve skin tone and texture.

Chia Seed Oil: Chia is a flowering herb from the mint family and is native to Mexico and Guatemala. Here, too, the seeds are cold pressed to produce this fascinating oil, which is considered the richest plant source of omega-3 fatty acids. With its high content of antioxidants (even more than blueberries!) and its anti-inflammatory properties, it is a true powerhouse for organic skin. It is a great source of minerals (including zinc), B vitamins (rich in antioxidants) and amino acids that help the skin regain its radiant appearance while improving elasticity, tone and texture.
