How to prepare your matcha properly
Put about 1 gram (½ teaspoon) of matcha into a bowl or cup.
Add 60–80 ml of hot water (approx. 80°C) – do not boil it to preserve the valuable ingredients.
Using a bamboo whisk (chasen) or milk frother, whisk the tea vigorously until a fine foam forms. Add 190 ml of water for a traditional matcha tea, or 190 ml of your favorite milk to make a matcha latte.
Storage and shelf life
Once opened, store the matcha in a cool, dry place away from light – ideally in the refrigerator. This will preserve its color, aroma, and nutrients for up to four months. Unopened, it will keep significantly longer if stored properly.
