For IRIS EBÈNE, the roots of the iris plant are peeled by hand, washed, air-dried and finally, after a long period of storage, distilled. The production of the absolute takes over six years and makes iris one of the most valuable raw materials in perfumery. Its delicate and powdery fragrance is reminiscent of violet, mimosa and carrot with buttery and woody accents.
Perfumer Marie Hugentobler selects an exceptional natural iris from the arid Atlas Valley for Atelier Materi's IRIS EBÈNE perfume.
In Iris Ebène, she creates a contrasting composition in which the iris reveals its dark and sensual side and blends with woods, balsam and musk.
