Aromatic profile:
Aroma: light with delicate earthy notes that round off a soft, herbaceous and slightly spicy bouquet.
Blends well with: Myrrh, Sandalwood, Lavender, Clary Sage, Cypress, Lemon and Cinnamon.
Massage or perfume oil: The aroma of patchouli is rich, sensual, and earthy. Because it's a very strong base note, it can easily overpower other oils. In perfumery and when blending essential oils, it's recommended to limit the patchouli content to 5% or less of the total oil. Start with one drop and wait a while before adding more to your blend. Once you like your essential oil blend, you can blend it with a few drops of your favorite carrier oil. This blend can be used for a massage, or you can simply rub a few drops on your wrist.
Other recommended uses:
Direct inhalation into the palm of the hand: Diluted in a high-quality carrier oil such as marula or jojoba oil, patchouli oil can be used by direct inhalation into the palm of the hand.
Aromatic bath: Add it to a relaxing bath oil blend.
Massage Blend: Blend patchouli with other skin-loving oils like frankincense and dilute it in a carrier oil of coconut or rosehip seed oil. Apply this blend lightly all over your body before bedtime to enjoy its healing benefits and wake up feeling reenergized.
Romance Blend: Blend patchouli oil with jasmine and rose to welcome your partner to a luxurious evening full of romance and sensuality—also perfect for a pleasurable massage.
