Bakuchiol is extracted from the seeds or leaves of the Indian babchi plant (Psoralea corylifolia) and is thus a purely natural skin care ingredient. Mainly found in India, Sri Lanka and China, the plant belongs to the legume family. In the meantime, the active ingredient has also been detected inlower concentrations in several other plants. Hyped by skincare experts, Bakuchiol is said to be able to counteract the skin aging process - natural anti-aging active ingredient - ensures smooth and supple skin and is well tolerated, even by blemished skin! You can find this power ingredient in serum, cream or Bakuchiol oil.

    Bakuchiol vs. retinol

Bakuchiol, the herbal alternative to retinol, so they say. Is that actually true? Our answer is: it depends. Bakuchiol has a comparable effect to retinol. Several studies have already shown that both active ingredients have an almost identical effect on certain skin problems. However, they are two fundamentally different substances with different molecular properties. In cosmetic application, however, impressive parallels can be seen. Skin aging is slowed down, wrinkle formation is stopped. When retinol is used, however, skin irritations can often occur in the form of scaling or redness.

    The effect of bakuchiol

is clinically proven to regenerate skin cells, reduce pigmentation and improve the appearance of acne skin. Also popular as an anti- or slow-aging ingredient, it stimulates collagen production, smoothing the skin and visibly reducing wrinkles. It has the ability to penetrate deep into the skin, allowing it to work where visible effects occur. By boosting collagen production, it also ensures that blemishes, redness or injuries to the skin can heal faster. Bakuchiol also has a strong antibacterial effect, soothing the skin and promoting healthy cell regeneration. And as icing on the cake, the also acts against free radicals. In traditional Chinese as well as Indian medicine, bakuchiol has long been known as a reliable remedy for various skin problems such as eczema, irritation or psoriasis.

    Advantages of the bakuchiol

unlike conventional retinol, the active ingredient bakuchiol is suitable for
    +vegan and vegetarian
+as well as during pregnancy and lactation
Due to its good tolerability and its naturalness, the retinol alternative is becoming more and more popular. In products that have both active ingredients, bakuchiol is even said to enhance the effect of retinol.

Bakuchiol, however, is usually found in the upper price segment, especially if it is of high quality. As with all ingredients that are supposed to produce a desired efficacy, however, it is precisely this high quality that is decisive for the visible successes.

So, is it the herbal alternative to retinol? Yes, because bakuchiol is basically herbal, retinol often is not, with almost identical effect for certain skin care needs. No, because it has a completely different molecular structure and the complete and intensive effectiveness of retinol has not yet been proven.

Bakuchiol is just Bakuchiol. Super compatible, innovative, plant-based and visibly effective, especially when incorporated into the daily skincare routine in the morning and evening.
